St. John conducts five worship services each week.
- Traditional – Sanctuary
- Sunday – 8 & 10:30am
- Thursday 7pm
- Contemporary – Worship Center
- Sunday 8 & 10:30am
Traditional worship is structured around the Lutheran Service Book, using modern language and modified liturgies, as well as some non-hymn music. These services are held in the Sanctuary at the north end of the building.
Contemporary services are held in theWorship Center at the south end of the building. These services feature music led by various worship teams using contemporary style worship music and a more informal service layout.
Special services are used in observing important church events, such as Ash Wednesday, Christmas and Easter.
Holy Communion
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is observed during the first, third and fifth Sundays of each month and at appropriate special services, such as Easter.
Participation in Holy Communion
We uphold what the word of God teaches about Holy Communion; namely, that this is a special Meal and that those who participate understand and believe the following:
I believe I am a sinner and need God’s forgiveness. I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior from sin. I believe that Christ is truly present in, with, and under the Bread and Wine, and gives me Himself and His forgiving love in this Meal.
If you are in agreement with our beliefs regarding the Lord’s Supper, we invite you to join us for communion. If you are uncertain about whether to commune, or if you have questions about communion, please arrange a time to talk to the pastor before communing.
